A BUSINESS SPRING CLEANING GUIDE:
MAKE ROOM FOR GROWTH

Every year around this time, something kicks in. I get the urge to toss open the windows, grab a garbage bag, and start clearing out the clutter. Last weekend I tackled the junk drawer, cleaned out the closet, and finally donated that pile of “someday I’ll wear this again” clothes. It felt so good.

In our businesses, spring cleaning isn’t just about tidying up – it’s about looking at everything with a fresh eye, revamping our marketing, our systems, our customer experience. Here are a few simple, high-impact ideas that you can implement—no matter what kind of business you run

Spring Cleaning in your business isn’t just about tidying up – it’s about looking at everything with a fresh eye, revamping your marketing, your systems, your customer experience.

Restaurant

Refresh your menu. Retire slow-sellers and bring in seasonal favorites. Ask your team what dishes guests love the most right now.

Swap your photos. Update your website, Google, and social media with bright, appetizing food photos that reflect the season.

Deep clean the dining room. Touch up paint, scrub baseboards, and clear out visible clutter—these small fixes make a big impression.

Auto Repair Shops

Declutter and organize. Clear out old parts, clean the workbenches, and refresh the waiting area to make the shop feel more professional and inviting.

Streamline your workflow. Review your layout and processes. Are tools easy to access? Are parts organized? A few tweaks can boost efficiency and reduce turnaround time.

Walk through like a customer. Are signs easy to read? Is check-in smooth? Are your team members welcoming? Small changes here can lead to major loyalty.

Retail Stores

Give your store a facelift. Rearrange your layout to improve flow and make browsing easier. Even a small shift can make the store feel brand new.

Create a “Spring Picks” spotlight. Feature seasonal items or top sellers in a high-traffic area near the entrance.

Host a mini pop up or event. Think sip-and-shop, samples, or a local vendor showcase. Give customers a reason to stop in and hang around.

This doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Start small. Tackle one thing a week. And just like cleaning out that junk drawer, you’ll feel lighter, more focused, and ready for a strong season ahead.

And don’t forget to spring clean your mindset too – let go of what’s not working and make room for what is! And if it’s been a while since you updated your signage, call your Coach at 1-888-353-5012 and ask about a signage refresh package.
