“The best way to predict the future is to create it.”
– Peter Drucker
The new year is like a new beginning. A fresh start. A reset button. We take inventory of what we want to accomplish in the coming year. We envision how we will become a better version of our current selves. Whether you call it a resolution or not, these musings often fall by the wayside. Our calendar can quickly
become overrun with other people’s priorities rather than ours. We fall back into the same old habits. The glimmer of hope that goes hand in hand with this time of year flickers and dims. And if we didn’t attach a plan to these intentions, they never had much hope of becoming a reality regardless.
When I look back on the past year(s), what is clear is that our world has changed. Our lives, our businesses, our families. Yes, we could certainly attribute this to the change around us. The world changed and we followed. I say otherwise. When I look back at 2021, what I see is OUR ABILITY to change. OUR ABILITY to adapt, to innovate, to grow. Yes we adapted, we pivoted. But WE did it. And so I ask, what else can YOU do?
What will YOU create in 2022?
Yes, take a moment to look back at all your successes in 2021. But better yet, acknowledge the focus, the drive, the determination it took to accomplish those things. Acknowledge and harness that combined power and bottle it for 2022. I ask again, what will you CREATE in 2022? How will you shape the future of your business, your family, your personal life?
Seek out new perspective. Maybe look at your “Why?”. There is a great book by Simon Sinek called “Start With Why” that provides a different perspective on things. What is your purpose? Why does your business exist? And why are these questions important.
Recognize that you are a priority. The hardest part of business ownership is its all-consuming nature. Your ideas, your decisions, your money, your time. Being the go-to person for everything can be exhausting. And it is key to carve out time for yourself that isn’t work related. Your well-being should be paramount in 2022.
And don’t do it alone. Napoleon Hill, author of “Think and Grow Rich”, made this discovery after years of studying the world’s wealthiest and most successful people…”you need brains besides your own.” If you don’t have support from other like-minded Business Owners, reach out to your Coach and ask about applying for a Platinum Elite Test Drive. After 2 years of virtual events, this group of successful Business Owners is meeting March 1st & 2nd in San Diego, CA. At the time of writing this, the meeting is still months away but the agenda is already jam packed with valuable presentations geared for massive success in 2022.
Finally, put your Coach to work for you. Being CEO of Marketing is a tough gig. We’re here to support you.
