Mastering The Social Media Game


Social Media is an ever-changing landscape – what’s ‘trending’ today can be forgotten tomorrow. New platforms pop up all the time (some prosper, some flop), and features change. And just as the platforms themselves change and evolve, so will your audiences’ social media preferences.

As you’ve heard us say before, whether you like it or not, having a relevant Social Media presence is critical for your business. It’s a great tool to extend your reach and increase your businesses visibility, it is relatively low cost and is a great tool to increase your customer engagement. Yes, it can sound like a daunting task, but armed with these tips, you can stay relevant in the social media game in 2024.

Do. Not. Resist. Embrace AI.

Coming up with content is HARD. AI can get you started and help you take advantage of current trends (as long as they are applicable to your business!).  How you ask? If you aren’t sure where to start, we’ve included here some example prompts you can use to leverage this tool and get the right type of ideas.

You’ll be AMAZED at the results! Yes, AI can help you with this! It ABSOLUTLEY needs review with a human eye, and does take some trial and error, but it can be a great springboard to help you hit the ground running.


Ugh…a dreaded word and yes, we said it! Love them or hate them, one of the top trends for 2024 is working with influencers. But if you aren’t quite ready to WORK with them, follow them, watch them, and learn from them. And when you are ready, the key is to find influencers (called micro or nano influencers) that are in your specific industry and geographic area that are already speaking to your customers.


If you’ve spent any amount of time “scrolling”, you already know that video is a major player on social media. So, use that to your advantage. Short clips of happy customers, a back-of-house tour, before and afters, an instructional video. It doesn’t have to be complicated to create engaging content.


Regardless of what type of business you have, or who your customers are, we guarantee you they aren’t all actively using Facebook anymore. Your company needs to be present on multiple social media platforms. If you’re only on Facebook now, try Instagram next and recognize your results won’t be great overnight. It will take time to build a relevant following and learn what they engage with.


Behind-the-scenes videos may have once been your most liked content, but now your audience is bored and wants to see something different. Get creative and track views to see what type of response you get. (There are also lots of analytics in Instagram business accounts, it will quickly show you which of your posts or reels are the most popular.)

And our FINAL tip to master the social media game in 2024?

Don’t do it (all) yourself. Yes this is important for your business, but it’s very likely not in your area of expertise and thankfully, you have a few options. There is a TON of social media consultants who you can partner with and who will create ready to do posts and videos with raw content you provide them. If you’re not quite there (which we wholly understand), chances are there are member(s) of your staff that have just enough knowledge and savvy and are more than willing to take this on (heck they may even know what’s hot and what’s not, and can even provide content ideas). Give them directions (incorporating your input from AI), a deadline and see what they can create.
